Comfort Suites Charleston West Ashley

"We experienced our usual stay at Comfort Suites. Rooms are clean, staff were all very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good, they even had a "grits station"! The wi-fi was good but had to relog in every day. Typical lack of lighting except the bathroom, was one of the best lit bathrooms I've been in. The location was OK but it was a little way to the downtown/ historic area which meant paying for parking. Traffic going back to the hotel after 3:30 to 4 pm was pretty bad. Plenty of fast food, burgers, fried chicken places to eat but there was a lack of places to get a decent dinner."

"5 of us rented a suite there Memorial Day Weekend. We checked in Friday night and checked out Monday morning. The room itself was very pleasant. The most spacious suite I have ever stayed in. There’s a whole living room. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom is huge with a huge garden tub with jets and a standup shower. It features a very large vanity to accommodate three people at once. We were on the fourth floor, and I never saw another patron on that floor during our entire stay So there was no noise and we were not bothered by other guests. We didn’t get to use the heated indoor pool, but it’s nice that they had one. The breakfast was good, we ate every morning. They had eggs, grits, sausage, toast, muffins, yogurt, fresh Fruit, Cereal, English muffins, waffles, Just the name a few. The Entire suite And bathroom were very clean, there were plenty of linens. There was an ice machine right next to our room so that was convenient. There is always fresh coffee in the lobby as well as a drink and snack shop around the clock. SERVICE: To the Young gentlemen and the nice lady that works the desk at night, Thank you for making our stay a pleasant one! You were great! I give our stay here and the hotel 5 stars and I do recommend that you stay here. Here’s a tip, though, at breakfast, Do not speak to the lady That works in that area, because she will bite your head off if you tell her good morning. You can tell she’s just always in a bad mood because we never saw her happy In all three days that we had breakfast there. In fact, a gentleman at breakfast, a patron of the hotel, and a complete stranger told me that she yelled at him. If you stay here, which again I do recommend, You’ll see what I mean."

"What a great value. Large room. King bed and separate sitting area with couch and chair and foot stool. Extra bench, desk and office chair. Fridge, microwave and a closet. Spent a week in Charleston and the extra room was nice. 20 to 30 minute drive to downtown. Extra room was worth it. Located as basically an island with roads all around and one entrance. Even so rarely heard traffic at night. Eating within walking but use crosswalk and lights for safety with heavy traffic. Didn't seem to be enough parking but we always found a spot. Housekeeping was on demand only. You can pick up towels and trash bags at the front desk. Seems a very minor inconvenience if it keeps prices low. We were here a week so why pay extra for someone just to make the bed? We saw this as a positive. Free coffee and hot water, (sometimes), and fresh cookies. The breakfast was excellent. Bread, muffins, grits, scrambled eggs, sausage, juice. Very good. Food was hot and attendant was very good keeping it all stocked and clean. Worth the drive for a much more affordable and so much more room and amenities including indoor heated pool. Afternoon staff were friendly and helpful. What a great place to stay for vacation."
